E-Plant — When Plants Talk, LEHNER Listens

Plants communicate — not in words, but through shifts in their electrical signal patterns that reflect their current physiological state. LEHNER's E-Plant monitoring system captures and interprets these weak bioelectrical signals, making the invisible needs of a plant visible in real time.
The system detects conditions such as water stress or parasitic interference directly from the plant itself, without relying on indirect environmental proxies. Beyond passive monitoring, E-Plant can also apply targeted electrical impulses to actively influence plant development — accelerating or timing flowering and fruit formation with measurable precision.
The practical outcomes span the full cultivation cycle: early detection of environmental stress, optimized irrigation and treatment schedules, better prediction of harvest timing, and documented yield improvements.
E-Plant was recognized as part of the "365 Orte im Land der Ideen" initiative in 2015 — a national program identifying outstanding examples of innovation made in Germany.
